ALTA-WIDE TIMBER MART is family owned and operated. ALTA-WIDE strives to create relationships with customers to better understand and predict their requirements. We greet each customer as they enter our store and ask them how we can help. We want our customers to buy the right product the first time and feel confident in their purchase.

If anyone needs a little more help we have in store how-to manuals, website help, or we can suggest a local contractor if the job is too big.

Mark Brumm, the founder and owner of the ALTA-WIDE group, started in the building supply industry at the age of 16, with Beaver Lumber. Starting out by sweeping floors and stocking shelves, he learned the hardware and building supply business quickly and in turn worked his way up to store manager by the age of 23. Now, Mark travels between the ALTA-WIDE stores and has an office at each location. He invites customers to come and see him while he is at a store but is also available at our head office or on his cell phone for any customer who wishes to deal directly with him. Mark’s personal motto is ‘be fair’. Fair to our customer, fair to our suppliers, fair to our staff and fair to the business.

We believe it is important for us to be integrated into every community that we serve. Every region has its own needs and characteristics and we pride ourselves on stocking specialty products based on each community.

Being part of a community also means giving back. ALTA-WIDE is a significant sponsor of several local charities, annual fund raising events as well as local 4-H clubs and sports teams. You can find our staff lending a helping hand with special events or coaching local sports teams. We believe it is important for our staff to be an integral part of the community.
